Active Living

In collaboration with Courtney Tucker, we present to you a health blog focused on active living. I turned 26 last week, and reflecting back on 25 is what brought me to write this blog! 25 has definitely been one for the books and because of this, I’ve taken charge of my health. Of course, you all read my previous blog titled Uterine Fibroids. In summary, after receiving an ultrasound that showed I had a uterine fibroid, I had a pap that results said I had abnormal cervical cells. Then I had to have a get a colposcopy (is a procedure to closely examine your cervix, vagina, and vulva for signs of disease) to determine if the abnormal cells were pre-cancerous, which they weren’t. I am currently in talks with my physician about monitoring the fibroids and I have to have a pap every three months which is getting very EXPENSIVE. Since then I’ve ordered these amazing 100% cotton panties from Sosha Bianca studios (https://www.soshabianca.com), on my period I only wear 100% organic tampons from L., changed my eating habits, and started working out at least 30 mins a day. I have no set workout plan so my physical fitness activities range from running hills at a local park with weights to a simple 30 min walk.

So here we are age 26 and feeling healthy and happy. Y’all know I’m all about collaborating with other black professionals, of course, I wouldn’t write a fitness article myself self I am nowhere near educated or trained to do such a thing. I would like to introduce you to Courtney!
